Guidelines

Mission Statement

The Bluffton High School Show Choir is a select group of students who represent the school positively through performances. High standards are placed on these students to achieve musical skills, musicality, performance skills, stage presence, and group cohesiveness. 

Expectations

1.        Respect for Miss Gratz and the choreographer.
2.        Behavior that shows respect and courtesy for each member of the group.
3.        Attitudes that enhance the image of show choir and the Bluffton school system.
4.        Appropriate behavior is expected at all times.
5.        All students are expected to follow all rules as stated in the Bluffton High School handbook.

                           Goals for rehearsals and performances

1.        BE ON TIME to all rehearsals and performances.
2.        NO TALKING when any director or student leader is talking.
3.       
HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE is required, since complaints and bad attitudes can destroy a group.
4.        Problems should come to Miss Gratz and they will be confronted immediately.

Failure to follow these goals and expectations will result in removal from practice or performance.  Two occurrences will result in removal from the group.

  Attendance

Rehearsal Attendance

Every rehearsal is important to all show choir members and attendance is required at each rehearsal.

  • Excused Absences

An excused absence will be granted for:

        1.  Illness.
        2.  College Visitations if Miss Gratz is notified in writing at least two weeks prior to the rehearsal.
        3.  Certain athletic events when Miss Gratz has been notified and a deal has been made.
