Mrs. Ybarra graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in Spanish.  Master's in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College, Detroit Michigan.

Course descriptions:

Spanish I introduces novices to language study by teaching, listening, and speaking skills, as well as grammar and structural concepts.  Knowledge and appreciation of Spanish speaking cultures is also
developed.

Spanish II broadens and deepens the student's knowledge of Spanish through the development of a larger vocabulary; revision and building upon previously learned grammar concepts; reading and composition
skills; as well as, knowledge and understanding of Latin American and Spanish cultures.

Spanish III emphasizes increasing the fluency of speech to the level of useful conversation. There is focus on the current events, history, literature, and culture of Hispanic countries. Students will write compositions and translate from English into Spanish in this course.

Spanish IV broadens and strengthens the student's ability to communicate in real-life situations. It also challenges students with advanced grammar concepts. Cultural writings, writing and listening activities provide fundamental knowledge about such topics as Spanish travel and tourism, the media, and leisure and pastimes.
