               What is an Envirothon?                  

Envirothon is a competitive event for high school students which tests their knowledge and skills in five areas: soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, and environmental issues. The program is sponsored by Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Northwest Ohio. Mrs. Antibus chooses five students, usually from her Environmental Biology class who show interest in participating. The students first participate in a Area I competition. If a team's score is one of the top four, the team will get to compete in the state competition. Since Mrs. Antibus has been teaching at Bluffton, she has seen her groups go to state 8 out of the 11 years. After state, teams can move on to nationals. They must have  the top  score. A team from Bluffton has never made it to nationals, yet.
