instruction occurs during the guided reading block. Students are
taught reading skills and strategies through the use of various materials.
These printed materials include shared classroom novels,
STORYWORKS
magazine, nonfiction Wild Side selections, picture books,
informational text, poetry, and skills worksheets. The goal is to explore a great diversity of printed materials.
