Home Economics One
(One year Course)
The purpose of this course is to help people become better home members as it presents a broad introduction to Home Economics. The subject matter presented provides learning in personal, social, and family relationships as well as developing skills in homemaking. Included are fundamentals of good nutrition and meal preparations; selection, care, and construction of clothing; care of infants; consumerism; and interior decorating.
Home Economics Two
(One Year Course)
The second year of Home Economics is a continuation of learning experiences in the field of Family and Consumer Science. This course stresses a higher degree of performance in the study of nutrition, clothing construction and family life. There will be an area of emphasizing personal financing, choosing, equipping and managing a home environment.
Advanced Foods
(Semester Course)
This course will be a sequel to Home Economics One. It will include more advanced gourmet, foreign and ethic foods.
Parenting
(Semester Course)
This course focuses on the understanding and importence of parenting. The course includes pre-natal care as well as guidance of children through adolescence. This course is aimed not only at future parents but future care-givers and educators.
Independent Living
(Semester Course)
This class is open to seniors who have no Home Economics One or Two classes. This course is a practical mini-course designed for those who feel a need for help in foods (planning, preparing, buying, serving), and consumer help in buying clothes. There will also be help in managing and choosing a place to live.
