Calculations of Operation

Operation Brooksie Triangle

To solve this triangle, you will need to use the Law of Cosines to find line segment UK.  Use the equation 75^2 + 30.5^2 – 2(75 * 30.5 * cos37) =UK^2.  Your approximated answer for UK will be 44.4.  After finding the side UK, you will be able to complete the rest of the triangle by using the Law of Sines.  Use the Law of Sines to find angle NUK.  Your equation will be sin37/44.4 = sinNUK/30.5. The angle measurement for angle NUK will be approximately 25.5 degrees.  When you have found angle NUK, you need to add angle NUK with angle BNK and subtract that sum from 180.  180 – (37 + 24.5), this will give you the last angle UKN, which will be 118.5 degrees.  The triangle is now completed.  The mission is possible.
