        One Year Course             Elective 10-12                        IT I

 

This multi-topic course designed to expose students to three major areas of the Industrial Technology world. 

The first portion of the class will be an in-depth learning experience in Metalworking.  Instruction over the Oxyacetylene Torch, Metal Lathe and MIG Welder will be introduced.  Students will have assigned projects they are to build using previously learned metalworking machines and the three introduced this year.

The second portion of the class will be Manufacturing.  Students in the class will form the Bluffton Industrial Technology Club (BITC) and twice throughout the year we will design, plan, construct and sell mass produced projects.

The final portion of the year will be Basic Home Improvement and Repair.  Students will gain knowledge and experience creating and fixing the various aspects of construction which go into building or maintaining a home.  We will create several projects throughout this portion which will facilitate student learning.
