Mrs. Garmon received her B.A. from B.G.S.U. in art education K-12. She received her masters at the University of Findlay. She completed it in 2001.
Course descriptions:
Art 1: This is an introductory course including an exploratory creative arts program providing the students with some experience in many different media each year.
Art design: A studio exploration of the elements of design, line, form, color, and texture to help students perceive and create artwork. A variety of materials will be used to individually design in two dimensions. Commercial design will also be studied.
Art ceramics: Extensive problems in using clay will be studied. Techniques exploring and hand building such as modeling slab, coil, and combination to create figures, portraits, and animal forms will be considered along with exploring mechanical techniques.
Photography: This is an introductory course aimed at exploring the art of photography. Students will learn how to operate their camera to enhance their picture taking abilities. Students will also learn to make outstanding final prints by using spot toning, dodging, burning, and other various techniques. Students will complete a final portfolio filled with photos and handouts so they may refer to them after the course is complete.
Art Seminar: This course is designed for the serious student who has taken three or more years of art or who has submitted a portfolio of his work, and has the approval of the art department chairperson. Students will work in advanced problems of art according to their individual interests.
