Monday 9/22:

The District Open House will be held this evening. The high school will be open from 7:00-8:00 p.m. to allow parents to meet the teachers.

PSAT Test: Sophomores and Juniors interested in taking the PSAT test need to register during their lunch hour in the cafeteria. The cost is $14 and is due at registration. Sign ups will be held this week only. The test will be administered on 10/15.

The boys soccer team is selling "Kick for a Cure" t-shirts. Proceeds will benefit the Susan G Komen Society. See a boys soccer player or stop in the office to pick up an order form.

The Red Cross Blood Drive will be held during the school day tomorrow in the MS gym. If you have not yet signed up, sign up in the office today. If you are 16 years old, you must have a permission form signed by your parent. These forms are available in the HS office.  The public is invited to attend.

Today for lunch is Popcorn chicken, roasted red potatoes, corn, applesauce, roll & milk ALA-CARTE: Chef Salad

Homecoming tickets will be on sale tomorrow during the lunch hour. The cost is $8. Tickets will be sold during the lunch hour on Tues, Weds & Thurs. Tickets at the door will cost $10.

Tomorrow for Spirit Day you are to wear Red, White & Blue and Weds will be Generation Day.

Good luck to the tennis team as they take on St. Mary's at home at 5:00 and the girls soccer team as they take on LCC at home at 7:00. The girls soccer team will have parent's night this evening during halftime of the Varsity game. Players will be introduced in numerical order starting with the JV team and followed by the Varsity team.

Tues 9/23:

Today for lunch is Pepperoni Pizza, Tossed Salad, Pineapple  & Milk ALA-CARTE: Chicken

Homecoming tickets will be sold during the lunch today through Thurs. The cost is $8 and at the door they will be $10. Apollo students stop in the office after school to purchase yours. IF YOU ARE BRINGING A STUDENT TO THE DANCE FROM ANOTHER SCHOOL DISTRICT, A PERMISSION FORM MUST BE SIGNED AHEAD OF TIME. FORMS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE.

Tomorrow for spirit day is Generation day and on Thurs it will be Hawaiian day.

Just a reminder that the homecoming bonfire will be held Weds at 7:30 in the parking lot beside the tennis court. All fall athletes will be announced and students are encouraged to attend. Concessions will be sold along with glow sticks.

Good luck to the tennis team as they compete at Van Wert at 4:30, the JV boys soccer team as they compete at Kalida at 5:00, the varsity boys soccer team as they compete at home at 7:00 against LCC, and the volleyball team as they compete at Allen East at 5:30.

Thurs 9/25:

Good luck to the tennis team as they play Ada at home at 4:30, the boys soccer team as they play at Ottawa at 5:00, and the volleyball team as they take on Ada at home at 5:30. Also, good luck to the golf team as they compete at the Sectional Tournament at Sycamore Springs.

Spirit Week 9/22-26:  Monday: Camo/Animal Print; Tues: American; Weds: Generation Day (Freshman: Baby, Soph: Kids, Juniors: Middle Aged Adult; Seniors: Senior Citizens; Teacher: Teenagers);  Thurs: Hawaiian Day: Friday: Spirit Day

PICTURE RETAKES: Lifetouch/Studio One will be in on October 6th (Monday) to take pictures of students not yet photographed or those wanting retakes. Please stop by the office to pick up an order form which needs completed before pictures are taken, or go online to www.mylifetouch.com to order.

HOMECOMING:  The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday 9/27 in the Bluffton Middle School from 8-11 p.m. Admission is $8 for Presale tickets which can be purchased in the cafeteria during the lunch hour on 9/23-25. (Apollo students can stop in to the office after school and see Mrs. Oberly on these days to purchase tickets). Admission at the door will be $10. If you are bringing a guest from another school, a "Dance Guest Form" needs completed and turned into the office 2 days prior to the dance.  These forms are available on line or in the HS office.

DISTRICT OPEN HOUSE: The district open house will be held on Monday 9/22. The elementary will be open from 6:00-7:00, the MS from 6:30-7:30 and the HS from 7-8:00. Stop in and tour the building and meet your child's teacher.

Homecoming Bonfire: There will be a homecoming bonfire on Wednesday 9/24 at 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot beside the tennis courts. Come and show your Pirate Pride! Wear your Bluffton Pirate spirit gear, meet the varsity Pirate fall teams, cheer with the cheerleaders & celebrate as the marching band leads the party. Concessions and glow sticks will be sold. Contact the football moms if you have any questions.

Homecoming Parade:  There will be a homecoming parade sponsored by the football moms on Friday 9/26 at 6:00 leaving from Snider Rd.  Please contact Tracy Bricker( 419) 236-5855  or call the HS office 419-358-7941 if you would like to enter a float in the parade.

Attention 2014 Graduates:  The yearbooks are in. Stop in the office and pick yours up!

Open Gym: Boys basketball open gyms will begin on Weds 9/3 from 6-7:30 p.m.  They will be held every Weds, Sunday & Monday thereafter.  Girls basketball open gyms will begin this Sunday 9/21 from 4-5:30.

Parent's Night Schedule 9/22 Girls Soccer, 9/27 Boys Soccer, 10/9 Volleyball (Athlete's will bring home a form prior to parent's night asking how the names should be announced, so if you don't receive one the week of parent's night ask your child about it).

SCHEDULED 2 HOUR DELAYS: Bluffton Schools will have (3) Two Hour Delays during the course of the school year for teacher training.  The delays will happen on the following dates:  Tuesday, September 16th, Wednesday, November 5th, and Thursday, January 29th. Apollo students will run on a regular schedule.

Blood Drive:  The Red Cross will be holding a Blood Drive in the Bluffton Middle School gymnasium from 8:30-2:30 on Tuesday, September 23. The public is encouranged to attend.  Go to redcrossblood.org, sponsor code "bluffhsoh" to schedule your blood donation appointment. BHS student's will sign up at school during their English classes. Students 16 years old need a parent consent form signed and returned to the office prior to giving blood-this form is available to print out on this page in the right hand column under "Red Cross/Parent Consent Form".

Clip UPC Labels for $$:  The Bluffton PTO is collecting UPC labels to help raise money for Bluffton Schools. There is a collection box in each of the school offices. They are collecting UPC labels on Aunt Millie Products including Aunt Millie, Sunbeam, Holsum & Soft & Good Breads; "Box Top for Education" Labels; and "Book Spree" UPC labels found on Sunny D products.  They are collecting used printer cartridges too!! 

Sports Passes that can be purchased in the HS office:

All Sports Pass $100: Gets you into all home sporting events throughout the current school year including reserved Varsity Football and Boys basketball games.

Fall Sports Pass $30: Gets you into all home volleyball and boys & girl's soccer games.

Student Pass $25: Punch card that is good for 10 home sporting events throughout the school year.

Senior Citizen's Pass $30: Punch card that is good for 10 home sporting events throughout the school year.

Senior Citizen's All Sports Pass $80:  Gets you into all home sporting events throughout the current school year including reserved Varsity Football and Boys basketball games.
